Description
ALIGNS WITH NEW CURRICULUM
This unit is now newly revised and contains fun introductory activities and lesson plans that can be used easily at home or in a classroom.
Bogged down by how you are going to present the new Social Studies Curriculum?
This is the unit for you. This is designed for the new revised Social Studies curriculum.
This unit is primarily designed so that students can work through it independently without very much parent assistance. It is designed as a ready-to-go curriculum and is very language-based, so kids also get practice in reading and answering comprehension questions. Although there are few activities in here that might work better in a large group, primarily the activities work well in one-to-one settings.
First Nations, New France, and Europeans is a social studies unit created to support student learning about the early origins of this country. This inquiry-based unit, which meets the 2013 Ontario Ministry of Education Social Studies curriculum for Grade 5, provides a variety of activities meant to allow students to explore the perspectives of each group of people involved.
There are many pages of text with interesting fact bubbles and pictures that kids will love to read. Students love this unit and it is the teacher and student tested.
This will cover your entire social studies! It will also cover a great deal of art, reading and writing. If you are using this at home you can use this during your reading lessons and save time for when your child wants to explore other topics that interest them.
NOW – more pages are added! The unit is now over 100 pages long!
