Perhaps you’ve been searching for that spelling program that addresses morphology concepts.
Maybe you need a centre or a language program that is more comprehensive and addresses curriculum concepts. Maybe, you want to help your struggling readers understand the words they read so they can read new and unfamiliar words. Whatever your reason this spelling program is meant to address all those things.
From Monday to Thursday students will do a variety of activities with their words.
20 weeks of word lists are included.
Often these activities will not require extensive marking and you can simply take them up as a class or small group.
On Friday if you like you can take the week of word work up OR check in with a phonics assessment (spelling test). The goal of this is not to memorize words, but rather to understand how words work. Therefore similar types of words are grouped together in lists. One week these might be silent letters, another they may be vowel teams. The prompt at the top of the week will let you know what students should focus on that week.
Expectations Covered:
D 2.5, D 2.6 B 2.1, B 2.2 B 3.1
These are easy and help students find a predictable routine in their word work.
