It’s so hard to decide how to celebrate birthdays without taking money that could go somewhere else. On one hand I could always use more books! On the other hand I want every child to feel seen and special. With that in mind this year I created some easy birthday celebration gifts that will make recognizing each child special and easy for me. First I started with these paper kraft bags from Amazon. I wanted a bag that would be easy to store, write on and would be bright and colourful and I love these! Next I stapled on some easy tags! Then I added fun scented bookmarks (because who doesn’t want to encourage kids to read?) and invisible ink pens my kids are obsessed with! Honestly, aside from printing the tags and cutting them, the whole thing probably took ten minutes tops. When I have my official classroom list I will add a special treat that I know they love. On the first day of school I ask students what their favourite chocolate or candy is, and add that in as a special surprise. To make it easier on myself, I will likely also write the name of my student on a bag and the date of their birthday. This helps me ensure that I have the bags ready to go! If you are looking for an easy way to celebrate students I really liked this
